River Surveying – Software for Watercourse Surveying in CAD
BBSoft® river surveying was developed in collaboration with LUBW (State Institute for the Environment Baden-Württemberg) and BAFU (Federal Office for the Environment, Switzerland). The solution is specifically tailored to the requirements of water management authorities and engineering offices involved in hydraulic engineering.
BBSoft® River Surveying captures riverbeds, water surfaces, banks and vegetation in CAD and derives cross- and longitudinal profiles automatically – built with LUBW and BAFU for hydraulic authorities and engineering offices.
Import and Processing of Watercourse Data
Captured river data can be imported directly into the CAD system and further processed. This includes, among others:
- Riverbed
- Water surface
- Bank areas
- Vegetation structures
The data is imported in a structured manner and is immediately available for graphical visualization and technical analysis.
Automatic Profile Generation
The software automatically generates cross-sections and longitudinal profiles from the imported watercourse data. Profile creation is CAD-based and can be used directly for hydraulic analysis, documentation, or planning documents.

Integration into the Surveying Environment
River surveying is integrated into the BBSoft® surveying environment and uses the existing system architecture. Import, profile generation, and graphical analysis are carried out within a consistent CAD structure.
