Open Geodata for Civil Engineering

    Use Geodata Directly in CAD

Searching for, downloading and preparing geodata for further planning takes time. With BBSoft®, you can reduce the time spent searching and the number of manual steps by accessing supported geodata for your project area directly in CAD and using it for further planning.

Accessing Geodata: The Traditional Workflow vs. BBSoft®

Instead of collecting data from different portals, BBSoft supports a project-based workflow directly within your CAD environment.

    Traditional workflow

    1. 1

      Find the right geoportal

    2. 2

      Find datasets supported by BBSoft

    3. 3

      Find and select data tiles

    4. 4

      Download geodata

    5. 5

      Extract and organize files

    6. 6

      Import data into CAD

    With BBSoft®

    1. 1

Locate and select your project area

Use the OpenStreetMap function directly in CAD to quickly locate and identify your project area.

OpenStreetMap is intended for orientation and does not replace official cadastral or surveying data.

    2. 2

      Access geodata

Access geodata such as terrain data, orthophotos and aerial imagery, or ALKIS data in NAS format for your project directly through BBSoft.

    3. 3

      Organize data by project

Downloaded data is stored in the project directory. ZIP files are automatically extracted and prepared for further use.

    4. 4

      Combine geodata in CAD

Orthophotos, cadastral information, terrain data and your own project data can now be used together in CAD.

What Geodata Can You Use in BBSoft®?

Use georeferenced aerial imagery to navigate your project area and combine it with cadastral data, terrain data and your own planning data.

Use available elevation data as a basis for digital terrain models, as well as derived contour lines, terrain sections and profiles.

Import cadastral information such as land parcels, buildings and boundaries into your planning. With BB-VNAS, NAS data can be structured and displayed using a simplified layer structure.

Where Does the Geodata Come From?

The geodata is provided by public authorities, such as the German state surveying agencies. BBSoft® itself is not a data provider.

The availability of geodata, supported file formats and applicable terms of use depend on the respective German federal state and data provider.

With BBSoft®, you can access supported geodata, integrate it directly into your CAD planning and use it for your projects.

    Your Benefits at a Glance

    Direct CAD Integration

Use geodata directly in your DWG-based working environment with BricsCAD® or AutoCAD®.

    One Shared Data Basis

Use orthophotos, terrain data and cadastral information together with your existing planning data.

Work with ALKIS Data More Clearly

Prepare ALKIS data in NAS format with BB-VNAS and use it more clearly thanks to a simplified layer structure.

Continue Planning in CAD with BBSoft®

Use geodata directly for digital terrain modeling (DTM), road design, sewer design and other areas of civil engineering planning.
