Swept Path Calculation and Analysis
The BBSoft® Swept Path Analysis calculates driving curves, curve radii and turning circles for all common vehicles in the CAD location plan – four defined driving modes to FGSV/VSS with dynamic simulation and DWG output.
Four Defined Driving Modes at a Glance
Driving curves, curve radii, and turning circles are simulated in four defined driving modes – ranging from constrained path driving to standards-compliant steering angle variations and parking maneuvers. The dynamic driving simulation with real-time preview allows interactive adjustments directly within the location plan.
Driving Mode: Polygon
The vehicle is guided along a predefined polygon, a constrained path. The minimum turning circle radius is not taken into account. No adjustment of the polygon is performed.
Driving Mode 1 (in accordance with FGSV)
Steering input is applied while driving. Transitions from straight lines to circular arcs are designed tangentially. No kinks occur.
Driving Mode 2
Steering input is applied while the vehicle is nearly stationary. The vehicle then starts moving. An abrupt transition between straight line and circular arc is simulated, with maximum steering angle change at standstill.
Driving Mode: Parking Maneuver
For parking maneuvers, the front wheels are turned while nearly stationary. The vehicle moves directly from a straight line into a circular arc with a fixed steering angle.
Additional Functions of Swept Path Analysis
Construction and Editing
- Swept paths can be created as a quick construction or along existing CAD polygons (e.g. road edges)
- Guide point can be selected freely (alignment, left or right front wheel)
- Reverse driving can be calculated for individual vehicles
- Preview of the turning circle radius separately for left and right driving directions
Extended Vehicle and Guideline Support
- RBSV guideline (2020) integrated
- Swept paths can be created for gigaliners and bicycles
- An additional identical trailer can be configured
Custom Vehicle Definition
- Vehicle can be changed during processing
